General Description
The American Hairless Terrier or (A.H.T.) is a truly American breed and a Southern one at that! They are a natural variation of the Rat Terrier, exhibiting all the spunk and charm of the Rat Terrier breed but without the hair. This breed is relatively new, the first known one being born in 1972. They are becoming more known and popular among those with allergies as a potentially non-allergenic dog for many. These wonderful dogs excel as companions, are lively, friendly, intelligent and enjoy things such as agility, obedience and therapy work.
